What is CT? Computed Tomography (CT) is a diagnostic procedure that uses special X-ray equipment to obtain cross-sectional pictures of the body. The CT computer displays these pictures as detailed images of organs, bones and other tissues. The advanced design provides higher resolution, resulting in clearer images for more accurate diagnosis. Also, three-dimensional X-ray images display subtle differences in the body and has become an invaluable diagnostic too. Radiation exposure is minimized with our Siemens Scanner. CARE DOSE technology reduces radiation up to 40%. The scanner, in real time, alters the radiation emitted, depending on the thickness of the body part being scanned.

MRI - We operate the spacious GE Highfield 1.5 Tesla MRI.

The wide OPEN short bore High-field GE 1.5T SIGNA allows ALL parts of the body to be scanned and imaged, particularly the spine and joints in the flexion, extension and neutral positions. Lateral flexion-extension MRI is the diagnostic study of choice in dynamically evaluating the spine and used is for the assessment of spinal cord compression.

What is MRI? Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI, is a painless, non-invasive examination, which produces accurate, detailed images of organs and tissues without the use of X-rays. MRI uses a powerful magnet, radio waves, an antenna and a sophisticated computer system to deliver these images.

MRI is a superior imaging modality for evaluation of neurological diseases of the brain and spine.

It is also the method of choice for imaging of the musculoskeletal system and is widely used for evaluation of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle. Plus, it is effective in evaluating the organs of the abdomen and pelvis, including the liver, pancreas, kidneys, ovaries, uterus and prostate. MRI of the breast, including those patients with implants, has been shown to be a useful tool.

What is Ultrasound? Ultrasound (or "ultrasonography") is a medical diagnostic tool that uses high frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within the body. This test is commonly used during pregnancy to evaluate the fetus and the mother. Ultrasound allows your doctor to evaluate both structural aspects (i.e. whether the fetus' body is developing normally) and functional aspects (i.e. whether the fetus and its organs are operating as they should). Because it is a "real time" imaging procedure, doctors can examine such processes as body motion, cardiac activity and breathing movements.

The GE Legacy increases the area of anatomical coverage by up to 20% with the 40-cm image intensifier. It features a wide range of studies, clinically practical, including peripheral run-offs and full carotid/arch exams, from the arch to the siphons, captured in a single view.
